Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar inaugurated a smart classroom, a Catalysis and Energy Research lab, and a departmental Quality Enhancement Cell at UET Lahore

Vice Chancellor, UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar inaugurated a smart classroom funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, a Catalysis and Energy Research lab funded by the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL), HEC and a departmental Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC). The University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore has built a smart classroom at the Chemical Engineering Department. The classroom is funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan as a part of digitalization of the universities. The classroom provides interactive teaching learning environment for students at multiple locations. The classroom includes 40 network computing stations half placed at the main campus and half at the new campus. The project execution for the smart classroom has been result of continuous efforts of Prof. Dr. Waqar Mehmood, Director KICKS and support by Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar.  
The VC has also inaugurated a quality enhancement cell (QEC) at the department. Prof. Dr. Saima Yasin, Chairperson of the department has established the quality enhancement cell (QEC) for continual quality improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the department. The QEC is necessarily need of the hour in this 21st century and meet challenges of the globalization. A catalysis and energy research lab was also inaugurated by the VC. State-of-the-art lab has been funded by the SNGPL and the HEC based on competitive research grants. The grants accumulating to more than Rs. 250M were secured by Dr. Muhammad Faheem, Dean CMPE, Prof. Dr. Naveed Ramzan and previous dean CMPE Prof. Dr. Nadeem Feroz based on their research projects. The research lab includes complete range of equipment for analytical and physical characterization of materials.
The VC appreciated the efforts of the dean, chairperson and faculty for establishment of these latest facilities and encouraged them to continue the hard work for progression of the university. The vice chancellor MNS UET Multan Prof. Dr. Kamran, deans of all faculties, chairpersons of the departments of faculty of Chemical, Metallurgical and Polymer Engineering Faculty, Director KICKS, Registrar, Treasurer, Project Director, Controller Examination, Resident Auditor and faculty of the department graced the ceremony with their presence.
